What is M.G.C?

M.G.C stands for the Multicultural Greek Council. It is the governing body for all Multicultural Organizations at the University of California, Irvine. It was established on July 8th, 2009.

Calendar of Events

The Greek Community hosts various fundraising opportunities and philanthropic events, both on and off campus, to raise funds or awareness for specific evens.

The Multicultural Greek Council consists of over 20 active chapters, providing a wide selection of Fraternities and Sororities.

1. What is MGC?
M.G.C. is the governing council for all Multicultural Greek organizations at the UC Irvine Campus. 

2. How can I get involved within M.G.C. ?
You can get involved with M.G.C by joining one of our many Chapters. To do so you must go though that organizations recruitment process. 

3. Do M.G.C. Chapters have a formal recruitment process? 
Yes. Although many of organizations under M.G.C. recruit at different times during the school year, there is a formal process during the first few weeks of the Fall quarter. 

4. What is the difference between M.G.C, IFC and Panhellenic?
IFC is the governing council of the national fraternities at UCI, while the Panhellenic Association overlooks the national sororities on campus. M.G.C Fraternities and Sororities are more oriented to a specific theme, such as culture. Tied by a common goal, each council works to provide a unique college experience by focusing on academics and service. 

5. What is Hazing, and do M.G.C. Chapters haze?
Hazing is defined as intentional embarrassment or risk of emotional/physical harm to potential new members. Hazing is strictly prohibited, all Chapters must adhere to a strict Anti-hazing policy.
